So my week didn’t go quite as I had planned, on the bright side, my 18 yr old has now decided he wants to start running with me. So this week I took him to the running store and he bought himself the Brooks Ravenna 6’s that they fitted him with, 2 pairs of good socks (cause mom told him he needed them!) and a shirt. Then we went to Target and he bought himself a pair of shorts.
Tuesday I missed my run due to the sickies hitting me and I just couldn’t be that far from a toilet (bad news I know!) However, we had a pretty decent valentine’s day. I hope you all did too.
Wednesday I did not workout at all either, although I spent all afternoon doing a major declutter of my house and a deep cleaning … so I guess that counts for something right? Abby was sick on Wednesday and didn’t go to Youth Group, so we just hung out at home. Poor thing lost 4 lbs this week and had no appetite at all 🙁
Thursday I was finally able to lace up and go!! Ryan ran .80 miles with me then turned around and went home and I ran 5 total. It has been GORGEOUS outside this week!! In the upper 50’s and 60’s all week! Today we hit 70! Just amazing for Iowa in February!!
Friday I work all day at work, till 4:30, however, it was so gorgeous outside that the asst pastor, Richard, which on Fridays it’s just him and I in the office, he came back into the office from another part of the church and said “It’s too nice outside to be in here, let’s get out of here” and I was like sounds good to me! So I was home by 1:30 on Friday! WOOHOO! So I just enjoyed being at home with the windows open. Did more cleaning and decluttering. Did I mention that Friday morning on my way out the door I knocked a book from the kitchen table and onto my foot? Oh yes, I’m such a clutz! More on that later…
Saturday we had breakfast with the OWLS (Older Wiser Loving Saints) group from church. I’m not old enough to go, but my husband is, so I get to go. We had a family style breakfast at the Ronneberg restaurant in Amana. So yum. I ate so much. Then we stopped at Lowe’s to look at shelving and then at Walmart to get milk and fries for dinner that night.
When we got home we put food away, picked up Abby and went to the 2nd hand store to unload the items I had decluttered from the house earlier in the week.
I wanted to run on Saturday, and had totally planned on it, especially since the weather was so nice, however, foot had other plans. It hurt bad from the book on Friday :(. So I decided to rest it and run my 7 miler on Sunday.
Sunday we went to worship in the morning and then I made lunch and waited for Ryan to do some laundry and then we headed out for a run. He ran part of the way and then turned back. My plan was 7 miles but by 1.6 I knew my foot was not healed. So I did 2 miles
So this week wasn’t the best, but I was active in one way or another. I think next week will be better!
