Today marked week 3 in my training for half marathon #7 that’s coming up in May. Yup, running the Marion Arts Festival Half Marathon again. This will be year number 3 for me. This has a special place in my heart because this was my first half marathon ever.
I actually didn’t do too well this week, I lost of alot of sleep with my RLS which hurt my training because I was just exhausted.
Monday I went to Body Combat at the gym. Always a good time! That class is a heck of a work out! I even forgot a gym selfie *face palm* till I was in the car on the way home! I was sore the rest of the week from that class!
Monday night my RLS was HORRIBLE and I slept 4 hours. UGH! I still dragged myself out for a run after work, because, well, it’s running! I love it so much!! Tuesday I hit the streets for 4 miles. It was cold out but so worth it. I really had to battle against the voice in me that just said “rest”.
However, I lost the battle one Wednesday and Thursday 🙁 My RLS was even WORSE on Tuesday night only allowing me 3 hours of sleep. Therefore, 2 nights with a total of 7 hours of sleep really does a person in. Hubby and I went out for dinner Wednesday night and when I got home I took 2 allergy meds just to knock me out, and I slept really well. I was a groggy monster in the morning though!
So Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I didn’t workout or run at all. I just focused on catching up on sleep, working and resting.
Saturday I ran my 5 mile long run. It wasn’t my best run, the wind was strong and it was bitter cold but I got out there and did it anyway! I ran a hilly route too, so I was happy with my time. It was so blustery and cold!!! Brrrr! I am so ready for spring!
Afterwards I had my Shakeology and about 4 hard boiled eggs! I was hungry as I kinda forgot to eat before I left for my run….oops!
I’m planning on running more, making more of the classes at the gym and over all working out more this week. I need to get in better shape, not only to loose weight and feel better, but so I can improve my running.
Are you watching the Super Bowl tonight?
What team are you rooting for?
Well…that’s a wrap!
