Good afternoon!!! We just got home from church and I was wanting to post this earlier. I should have typed it up last night and scheduled it to go out, but I was lazy….haha!
We had our annual church meeting and it lasted a really long time. I loved hearing all the testimonies from people becoming members though. They a nice light lunch before the meeting then we had the meeting. It’s a glorious thing, to see the hand of God working in the body of the church. To hear testimonies from people of all ethnic, cultural and political backgrounds, all joined together.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15
Speaking of good days…I was finally able to run outside yesterday!! It was really nice. the temps were still cold, in the teens with the wind chills, but so much nicer than the temps being below 0 that’s for sure. When I was driving to the location to park my car it was snowing, a lot, but it was those huge, fluffy flakes that don’t last long. So for the first 3 miles or so of my 7 mile route it was snowing these huge, beautiful flakes were coming right at me. It was actually quite lovely. There were a lot of other runners out as well. We all come out as soon as the temps rise you know!
Yesterday’s route was a new one for me. I’ve driven it plenty of times, but never ran it. I was so glad I did. There was only one stoplight on the whole 7 mile route and it was VERY hilly. However, those hills are a good thing, I don’t train on hills often enough, so I will be running this one again!
Check out the elevation gain!! WOOHOO! So this hill is also a major segment on Strava & MapMyRun too, so I will be running it again to see how I improve too.
Friday night hubby and I ended up with both kids spending the night at different friend’s houses so we got the whole house to ourselves all night. That never happens. We went out for mexican and I had a huge margarita *giggle* it was huge!
Don’t mind my messy hair…I am about 2 months overdue for a haircut, and I suck at taking selfies! I need a selfie stick!
So let’s just say I went way over calories Friday night…oy. However, Saturday I burned 1000 calories running 7 miles. SO that all evens out right? Also, this morning I had a banana-oatmeal smoothie for breakfast, and I am terrible about eating breakfast!
Saturday morning when we went to pick up our son at his friend’s house Ralph dropped me off at Target so I could go sports bra shopping-what man wants to do that LOL! I also found this adorable C9 Jacket on sale!! WOOP! It’s obnoxious neon yellow and so soft & warm!
I don’t even think the photos do the bright yellow justice!! No one can say they cannot see me out running! Check out the arms. The cuffs have thumbholes which are a MUST for me in running gear. I won’t buy a jacket without them. Then bonus, the tops fold over so your hands are completely covered. Cool huh?
I really, really love this jacket. It’s also super soft. I wore it without my vest yesterday and I was fine. My core was a little cool, but nothing that wasn’t tolerable. Target had two whole racks of C9 stuff that was all on sale. Good thing we didn’t really have the money, or I would have raided it more!
So that is pretty much the run down of my weekend. Pretty fantastic if I do say so myself.
My goals this week are to continue with my Half Marathon training. My weekly long run goes up next Saturday to 8. This is what my schedule looks like next week:
- Monday – Cross training. I need to work on my core & do some Yoga
- Tuesday- Run 4 miles
- Wednesday – 5 miles & Yoga
- Thursday: 4 miles & core/legs
- Friday: Arms and stretching at the gym. Maybe some light cardio (not running)
- Saturday: 8 mile long run
Since I am trying out some yoga stuff, not really like “doing yoga” it will be inter-mitten as I’m learning stretches and stuff. I also signed up for a free membership at Fitness Blender so I am thinking I’ll try some of that out at home. I also work on Lifting and Core at the gym. I try to balance it out between doing things at home and doing things at Planet Fitness.
Major goal this week is to get this mop on the top of my head cut!!! OMGosh my hair is so much longer than it ever is. I like it super short and for me this is long. It’s curly and thick, so it doesn’t go down my head…it keeps curling up on top. Piling up there like a beehive LOL!
How was your weekend?
Where was the last place you went out to eat at?
Have you bought any new running gear lately?
