Good Morning!! Time for another fun edition of The Ultimate Coffee date. Linking up of course with Coco from Got2Run4Me, Lynda at Fitness Mom Wine Country and Deborah at Confessions of a Mother Runner.
If we were having coffee, I’d share with you some of my delicious homemade yogurt that I made this week! This new Instant Pot I received for Christmas (well, ok, I bought it for myself lol) is so fun and I absolutely love it!! I would have to make you some of the very yummy macaroni and cheese that you can whip up in less than 10 minutes!
If we were having coffee I would share with you that I am pretty terrified about my first Marathon this upcoming fall. I haven’t even started training yet! I am however, in training for half #7 coming up in May. So far it’s going pretty well. I just cannot break my average of 12 something minute miles. I know if I ate better (it’s the Instant pot’s fault LOL) and worked out more that would help! Its all about balance. Marathon training starts a week after the half. I will want to document that more, so I am planning on many more blog posts.
If we were having coffee I would share that this week was a bad week for me as far as my sleeping habits go. My RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) was REALLY bad on Monday night, resulting in me only getting 4 hours of sleep. Thankfully I only work at the church for 4 hours. I still went for my 4 mile run on Tuesday! However, I skipped Thursdays run, because Tuesday night I also had a HUGE RLS fit and only got 3 hours of sleep. It was bad. So Wednesday night, since I don’t work on Thursdays, I took 2 strong allergy meds just to knock me out. The end result was 9.5 hours of sleep, but a very groggy me on Thursday! I barely did anything. Sigh…. So this was pretty much me in the office on Wednesday! Dragging butt!
If we were having coffee, I would share how this week marked the one year anniversary since I got the Best. Job. Ever. at the church. I love it there. When they say “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life” it’s TRUE!! If you are stuck in a job you’re not happy with, go after something else!!! Do not settle!! I can tell you that doing something you love is absolutely the best thing you can do for yourself, both physically and mentally.
My boss is the best and took me out for lunch on Wednesday for my work anniversary, and invited my husband to come along as well. We went out for Asian food….yum!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we dumped Directv and are using a Roku. So far I love it. The only major downside is that we were so spoiled by the DVR, and being able to record shows and watch them whenever we wanted. So this has taken some getting used to. Like next week is the Season 4 Premier of “Reign”, which I love, but we won’t be able to watch it right away. We have to wait for Hulu to get it. But hey, now we’re only paying around $50 and before we were paying $80 so I’ll deal with it!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my youngest, my precious little girl will be 15 this month! Where’d the time go? Why do they have to grow up so fast!? She’s becoming such an amazing young lady, with such a heart for God. She makes me proud everyday. I don’t know where my life would be without both of my kids. Being a parent is beyond anything I could have imagined. It’s the toughest job, but the most rewarding as well!
(photos taken from my Facebook page so the quality sucks, and I couldn’t find the originals!)
If we were having coffee, I would share that I need to go get stuff done around the house and that I had a great time catching up. I need to have you over more often! It seems like life always gets crazy…all the time!
Thanks for joining me!
